A Bohemian OPS CAFE IN KARAKOY

I think all of you who live in Istanbul remember last Saturday… For those who are not here, I can say this; A city with pouring rain and eventually floods on its streets.  That Saturday morning, we set out for a job early in the morning to go to Sirkeci pier by ferry. We found ourselves in OPS CAFE in Karaköy when we realized that we could not walk outside because of the rain, after we crossed to Eminönü. I have to say it was pure coincidence. I have neither been nor heard of it before..

After seeing it, I thought how could I have missed such a place. I can say that it is a bohemian and quite cool place. In fact, Hürriyet weekend supplements editor Ali Tufan Koç describes it as “the best cafe of the year.”

You can sit in this cafe from morning to night. You can continue the magnificent menu that starts with breakfast on Sunday mornings, with afternoon tea. Your newspaper, magazine or book, along with the music playing under you…

I don’t think it’s enough to see its architecture with pictures like this.. It’s obvious that it’s a fine design. According to the information I learned, the interior architecture belonged to the wife of the owner of the place. In fact, it would be impossible not to mention their coffees, breakfasts and delicious lemonade, but I will just say this; If you happen to be in Karaköy at least one evening, add Ops Cafe to your route. You won’t regret it..

What should we wear when we go? I think a long dress with thin straps, flip-flops, a scarf that will be tied on your head from your forehead and long necklaces around your neck is just right for that place..

Definitely go, have a look.
